Google releases Android 11 Developer Preview 3.--New Modern Tech Media






Google has begun rolling out the third release of the Android 11 Developer Preview to several Pixel devices. Unfortunately, we don’t recommend anyone flash a Developer Preview build to your Pixel if it is currently your primary device, as it perhaps may not be stable enough.




The update is dated on April 23 with a build number of RPP3.200230.017 and is security patched up to April 2020. Is is running with Google Play services 20.12.14.




If you are already running the Android 11 Developer Preview, Google offers the ability to update to DP3 via OTA update. You can find the factory images at the Source link below.




Google notes this update offers “bug fixes and a set of productivity improvements,” which doesn’t tell us much. Once Android 11 reaches the Beta phase, it will not only be somewhat stable for daily use, but it will also be much easier to sign up and pull the update OTA (over-the-air). Currently, the Developer Preview requires that you wipe your Pixel device’s data, so be sure to back up files before flashing.

India Tells Banks to Migrate ATMs From Windows XP.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has notified all local financial institutions to exchange the operating system of the ATMs that still run Windows XP. They will be subject to regulatory sanctions if they do not meet the deadline – by June 2019. The Bleeping Computer obtained a copy of the notification sent by the RBI. Banks will have to implement some security measures before replacing Windows XP with another newer system. In the first phase, which lasts until August 2018, banks should implement password in the BIOS of ATMs; disable USB ports; apply the latest security patches, and limit the access time of administrators. In the second phase, which runs until March 2019, institutions will have to take steps to prevent card cloning and will apply whitelisting to release critical access only to certain users. This new function, which resides in its Google Lens app, lets you copy text from paper and paste it directly to your computer — no need for any manual transcribing.
