YouTube bringing fact-check feature, Actually What is that.?


YouTube, the video service of Alphabet Inc's Google, said on Tuesday it would start showing text and links from third-party fact-checkers to U.S. viewers, part of efforts to curb misinformation on the site during the COVID-19 pandemic.



For that it is bringing new feature Called fact-checker, YouTube said in a blog post that more than a dozen U.S. publishers are participating in its fact-checking network, including FactCheck.org, PolitiFact and The Washington Post Fact Checker. The company said it could not share a full list of fact-checking partners.



The feature will only appear on searches, though the company has previously said that its recommendation feature, which encourages people to watch videos similar to those that they have spent significant time viewing in the past, drives the majority of overall "watch time."



YouTube said that it had started reducing recommendations of borderline content or videos that could misinform users in harmful ways, such as "videos promoting a phony miracle cure for a serious illness."



Major social media companies, which have emptied their offices during the pandemic, have warned that their content moderation could be affected by relying on more automated software. In March, Google said this could cause a jump in videos being erroneously removed for policy violations.

India Tells Banks to Migrate ATMs From Windows XP.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has notified all local financial institutions to exchange the operating system of the ATMs that still run Windows XP. They will be subject to regulatory sanctions if they do not meet the deadline – by June 2019. The Bleeping Computer obtained a copy of the notification sent by the RBI. Banks will have to implement some security measures before replacing Windows XP with another newer system. In the first phase, which lasts until August 2018, banks should implement password in the BIOS of ATMs; disable USB ports; apply the latest security patches, and limit the access time of administrators. In the second phase, which runs until March 2019, institutions will have to take steps to prevent card cloning and will apply whitelisting to release critical access only to certain users. Whatsapp can start showing ads soon. As per the reports, it is said that Whatsapp’s parent company Facebook has decided not to put ads on the app. Whatsapp has billions of users around the world. Facebook has not planned completely to show advertisements on Whatsapp. The networking giant suspended the push to bring ads to avoid “antagonising regulators.” As per the reports mentioned, how the advertising model will be performed is the Facebook can use the phone numbers as determines to “match” Whatsapp and Facebook accounts and then it will show ads to the targeted users. Once the company will get the unification of its messaging platforms Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram, it will be out soon. Facebook hasn’t ditched the original plan to use Whatsapp to sell ads.
