CHANGES IN GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH


Google has removed the View Image button and the Search by Image feature when viewing an individual image within Google Image Search. Google announced this change on Twitter,

Today we’re launching some changes on Google Images to help connect users and useful websites. This will include removing the View Image button. The Visit button remains, so users can see images in the context of the webpages they’re on.

The Search by Image button is also being removed. Reverse image search *still works* through the way most people use it, from the search bar of Google Images.

This seems to be in direct response to the concession Google made with GETTY IMAGES FEW DAYS AGO around helping reduce copyright infringement through the popular search engine

YouTube re-enables it's High Quality streaming on smartphones.

Due to coronavirus pandemic, YouTube in India restricted video streaming quality on its mobile apps to 480p. It was done to ensure that the sudden increase in internet traffic didn’t cause any issues. The limited video quality continued in the country even after the lockdown. Many were complaining about it. For that YouTube is finally re-enabling 1080p streaming in India. You can now stream videos in 1080p on Android and iOS YouTube app. However, the setting is limited to WiFi network. It would not work if you are connected to mobile data. Further, the default streaming quality is still set at 480p. To watch YouTube videos in 1080p on mobile, you need to connect to a WiFi network.
